Stage 2 release coming soon

STAGE 2 RELEASE COMING SOON

Registrations of interest now open.

23 new lots at Mullum Creek, Donvale’s new sustainability and design focused estate, will soon be on the market. 27 of Mullum Creek’s 56 lots – over 50% – are now sold, and Stage 2, comprising 23 large lots accessed from Old Warrandyte Road, will be released early in 2015. Ranging from 1200m2 to 2500m2, most of the new lots are elevated, with views across the Mullum Mullum Creek and the newly created park and bike trail, into the hills and trees of the green wedge land beyond.

Construction news

The Mullum Creek team is getting ready to welcome the heavy machinery on site, with construction of roads and services in Stage 1 due to commence in January 2015. The work is scheduled to take around 5 months, and the 27 purchasers of Stage 1 lots at Mullum Creek will be able to start building their new homes shortly thereafter.

Design and ESD incentives package

Incentives of up to $15,000 are available to purchasers at Mullum Creek, enabling them to work with one of our preferred architects to develop a preliminary design for their home. The incentives also include a consultation with an expert in environmentally sensitive design to learn how the principles of ESD can be be applied to each site.

Best new house and sustainability awards for our architects

The Mullum Creek team is delighted to inform you that two of the architects on the Mullum Creek list won major awards at the Australian Institute of Architects awards held in Darwin in November.

Kerstin Thompson Architects won the Robin Boyd Award for Residential Architecture for new houses, for the house at Hanging Rock. “It’s a beautiful piece of work, a sophisticated and elegant solution,” said Paul Berkemeier, national jury chair for the AIA, “You can see that there’s been a very close working relationship between the architect and the client.” Kerstin has talked of the profound responsibilities involved in making a house, and of her interest in thinking through what it is to make a home and how to make spaces that people enjoy and feel comfortable in. “Architecture,” she comments, “is about people and how they live.”

Just as impressive is the double win by Breathe Architecture, who were awarded the Frederick Romberg Award for Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing, for The Commons apartment building in Brunswick, as well as the David Oppenheim Award for Sustainable Architecture. “Energy, passion and enthusiasm have driven the spirit of this shared home for people looking to give something back to the community” the jury citation stated. “By design, The Commons turns an unloved part of Brunswick into a living, breathing embodiment of the beauty of sustainable architecture.”  The Commons also won best in its category and overall Award at the 2014 Premier’s Design Awards.

The team at Mullum Creek would like to wish you all the best for the holiday season, and a happy and prosperous new year.

Warm regards,
Mullum Creek Team
