Construction Update

As we breathe a collective sigh of relief in finally gaining compliance for Stage 1 of the Mullum Creek development, our attention has quickly turned to the commencement of Stage 2.

At this point in time we have a few teething issues to work through with Council, and are targeting a commencement of Stage 2 towards the end of the year. This timeframe will allow titles and settlements to be issued towards the middle of 2017.

I look forward to providing more detailed estimates of timeframes and other developments in next month’s newsletter.

DRC News

Settlement of Stage 1 lot sales is now imminent. For those who have not commenced with the design process yet, we remind you that construction of your dwelling must commence within 2 years, and be completed within 4 years, of settlement.

If you have not done so already, please make an appointment to meet with the Mullum Creek DRC.

The main purpose of this first meeting is:

  • to clarify for you the environmental visions and objectives underlying building and landscape design for the estate, as embraced by the Mullum Creek community and detailed in the Mullum Creek Design Guidelines.
  • to consider together the potential and constraints inherent in the homesite you have purchased.
  • for the DRC to understand and provide preliminary feedback on your dream for your home, whether it be just a collection of thoughts or a firmer plan.

Meeting early with the DRC is crucial towards ensuring a smooth and cost-efficient process through home design and DRC approvals.

If you haven’t already chosen an architect or building designer, the DRC will recommend you choose one from a list of professionals we believe to be familiar with and particularly suited to the Mullum Creek project. If you choose from the Mullum Creek list, the architect/designer will prepare a preliminary schematic design for your home in close consultation with you. This is a free service as part of Mullum Creek’s design incentive package. We hope you will, but do not require you to, proceed with the design it elicits. For more information on this and other Mullum Creek incentives, please click here.

If you have already chosen an architect or designer, her or his presence at this first meeting will be extremely beneficial.
